hi friends!
So I have been more than MIA for the last semester and I must apologize for my absence; however, I am happy to report that I am back to blogging! Can I get a woot woot? Last semester, I frolicked throughout spain and europe but now I am back to the real world once again. (Insert wistful sigh) So a few life updates to reaquaint ourselves:
-Currently Watching: FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS! for those of you who have not watched the televesion masterpiece that is FNL i urge you to do so immediately. i am not one to become obsessed with a tv show but believe me when i tell you i am obsessed with Friday Night Lights. Matt Saracen is the background of my phone, it’s awkward.
-Currently Reading: Catching Fire- I finished the first Hunger Games book over break and I desperately need to get into the second book STAT. I mean who doesn’t love angsty love triangles and battle royales?
-Currently Wearing: tons of scarves (oh hi europe), comfy cozy sweaters, lots of gold accessories, and my new Michael Kors watch
Also, I have brown hair now, which is exciting!
Alright, so I am vowing now to all of you wonderful readers (cough cough all 2 of you- heyy mom) that I am going to post at least 3 times a week! Pinky swear!
So I just got back from a weekend getaway to New York City. It’s funny- last summer, when I was interning in New York and spending way too much time sweating it out on the 6 train, I was so ready to come home sweet home and just ree-lax. But, as it turns out, I missed New York and was so excited to come back to the citayyy. I had the most fab time catching up with my friends in the city, shopping in SoHo, lunching at Balthazaar, and seeing Sister Act, the musical, on Broadway (it was the single most sassy show I have ever seen). The entire whirlwind of a weekend was ah-MAZE-balls (to quote a New Yorker my sis and I overheard on the street), but the best part was Momofuku. I’ve read article upon article raving about Momofuku, the chain of restaurants owned by bad boy chef David Chang and was so excited to try it for myself. And, let me tell you, Mr. Chang did NOT disappoint. Meg (my sis) and I sampled the compost cookie, an ooey gooey cookie with pretzels, potato chips, butterscotch chips, and, yes, chocolate chips, the blueberries and cream cookie, which was BEYOND, and a slice of candy bar pie, an indulgent treat made with a chocolate cookie crust and filled with toffee and homeade nougat.

Guys! I have recently gotten into a new afternoon snack that is absolutely delicious (not to mention filling). Warning: it doesn’t look particularly appealing, but I PINKY PROMISE that it looks are deceiving in this case. All you need is cottage cheese, your favorite nut butter (I’ve recently been addicted to Low Sodium Better N’ Peanut Butter, a low cal peanut butter alternative), and a small handfull of almonds. Mix these protein packed ingredients in a small bowl, drizzle with agave nectar, and voilá, you have a simply delicious, not to mention healthful snack.

Too. Good.
After a long day of work and a supa intense gym workout, the last thing I want to do is slave over a hot stove making dinner. So today I went with my go-to easy dinner, spicy ground turkey. First, heat up a skillet with a tablespoon of olive oil. Then, toss in ground turkey and season with lime juice (I use 1/2 of a lime), sea salt, red chili flakes, and a bit of taco season. Cook the turkey until brown, stirring regularly. After your turkey has finished cooking, top your turkey with a dollop of medium salsa and enjoy! I love to pair the spicy turkey dish with a heaping helping of steamed broccoli, which I spice up with some salsa. Delish!
PS- Sorry there are no pics to accompany this post! My camera is MIA :( Shocking, I know…
Hey dudes! So this weekend my roommate, Lizzy, came to Williamsburg! Needless to say, I was beyond excited. I even made an itenerary for the occasion, so each moment was filled with Williamsburg goodness. I don’t often take part in the “touristy” activities that Williamsburg offers, but with Liz here, it was the perfect excuse to do just that!
Highlights of the Weekend:
-Riding Vanish Point, an absoutely terrifying new ride at Water Country USA (check out this vid for a sneak peak!)
-Going to see Harry Potter and, of course, falling asleep (I cannot stay awake during movies, my fatal flaw)
-Galavanting around Colonial Williamsburg and taking tacky tourist pics
-Sampling (and promptly getting reprimanded by the store clerk) way too many delicious peanut products at The Peanut Shoppe
-Going to the lodge (the Great Wolf Lodge, that is) and cheesin’ with Willy the Wolf, the hotel’s mascot
-Indulging in carrot cake cupcakes and cake from Carrot Tree (we had to do a taste test to see which was better! The winner? The classic carrot cake)
-Caffeine-ing and beeing seen at Aroma’s, my favorite Williamsburg café
Hey dudes! I feel like I am constantly doing this, but I have to apologize for being so MIA recently. Honestly, I have no excuse, I’ve just been super lazy. But, as the old adage goes, payback is a bi-atch. Yesterday, I got stung by a bee (who gets stung by bees??? really, nature? really?) and I am convinced it’s because I’ve been such a bad blogger recently…
Anywhoo- this weekend I rocked out at Tim McGraw’s “Emotional Traffic” concert. Virginia Beach traffic was the worst, as per usual, so we missed most off The Band Perry’s set, but from the parking lot, they sounded fantastic. Then came Luke Bryan who was a goof ball and did a lot of bootay shaking- my kind of man. And finally the man of the hour- Tim- took the stage! Poor Timmy (we’re on a nickname basis, duhh) had a broken foot and was obviously feeling some major pain (and obviously on some major pain killers) but he put on a fantastic show, nonetheless. I’ve listened to Tim McGraw forever so it was so fun to belt it out along with his classic hits. “I like it, I love it, I want some more of it”- need I say more. According to my sister, when I go to country concerts I develop a ridiculous Southern twang when I sing along…. Sorry not sorry ya’ll!

Faith Hill, you are one lucky gal.

Note the thumbs up from the audience!
Meg (my soul sistah) trying to teach me the Spiderman move. For some reason, we thought this was an acceptable concert activity. Questionable judgment.

Got it! So Spidey right now…

Hannah, the least redneck person in the world, getting into the music and fist-pumping like a champ. #winning #amurrica.
